Zeitgeber Cue Management

Meaning

Zeitgeber Cue Management is the deliberate clinical and behavioral strategy of controlling and manipulating environmental and behavioral time cues, known as Zeitgebers, to precisely synchronize the body’s Master Biological Clock (SCN) with the external 24-hour day. The most potent Zeitgebers include light exposure, the timing of meals, and the timing of physical activity. Effective management is crucial for correcting circadian misalignment, optimizing the Daily Hormonal Cascade, and improving sleep quality, mood, and metabolic health.
