Whole-Body Homeostasis

Meaning

Whole-body homeostasis is the ideal physiological state characterized by the dynamic, self-regulating balance of all internal biological systems, including the endocrine, nervous, metabolic, and immune systems, maintaining a stable internal environment optimal for survival and function. This state is not static but a continuous, adaptive process that allows the body to efficiently respond to internal and external stressors while maintaining core functional integrity. Robust homeostasis is the definition of biological resilience.
