Wavelength Specificity refers to the principle that biological tissues and molecules exhibit maximum absorption of light energy at precise, narrow ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum, known as specific wavelengths. This fundamental property is critical in light-based therapies and diagnostics, such as photobiomodulation (PBM) or laser treatments, where selecting the correct wavelength is essential to ensure the light penetrates to the intended depth and activates the desired cellular chromophores.
