Visfatin Resistin Levels

Meaning

Visfatin Resistin Levels refer to the circulating concentrations of two distinct, yet functionally related, adipokines—Visfatin (also known as Nicotinamide Phosphoribosyltransferase, or NAMPT) and Resistin—that are secreted primarily by visceral adipose tissue and immune cells. These levels serve as critical biomarkers for systemic inflammation, insulin resistance, and overall metabolic dysfunction. Elevated concentrations of both are often clinically correlated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
