Vinclozolin

Meaning

Vinclozolin is a synthetic dicarboximide fungicide that was historically used extensively in agriculture to protect fruits and vegetables from fungal diseases. From a hormonal health perspective, Vinclozolin is classified as an endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC) because it or its metabolites interfere with the normal function of the endocrine system. Specifically, it acts as an anti-androgen, disrupting the signaling pathways mediated by testosterone and other male sex hormones.
