Vigilance Impairment

Meaning

A clinically significant reduction in the capacity to sustain attention, maintain a state of readiness, and effectively respond to environmental stimuli over a prolonged period. This impairment is often a subtle but pervasive symptom of underlying neuroendocrine dysregulation, such as chronic cortisol imbalance, thyroid insufficiency, or sex hormone deficiency. It directly compromises cognitive performance, reaction time, and overall functional safety.
