Ventricular Remodeling

Meaning

Ventricular Remodeling is a pathological process involving progressive, maladaptive changes in the size, shape, mass, and function of the cardiac ventricles, typically initiated by myocardial injury or chronic pressure/volume overload. This structural alteration is a critical determinant and predictor of the transition from asymptomatic cardiac damage to overt heart failure. Hormonal and neurohumoral factors are significant drivers of this continuous, detrimental reorganization.
