Ventricular Dilation

Meaning

Ventricular Dilation refers to the pathological enlargement of the fluid-filled chambers, or ventricles, within the heart or the brain, a condition that signals significant underlying physiological stress or disease. In the context of hormonal health, ventricular dilation of the heart is often a concerning clinical finding associated with long-term, unmanaged hormonal imbalances, such as severe hypothyroidism or growth hormone deficiency, which compromise cardiac muscle structure and function. This anatomical change reflects the heart’s attempt to compensate for impaired contractility or increased volume load.
