VEGFR2

Meaning

VEGFR2, or Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2, is a critical receptor tyrosine kinase found predominantly on endothelial cells. This protein acts as the primary transducer of signals initiated by Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A), a key growth factor. Its function is indispensable for new blood vessel formation, known as angiogenesis, vital for tissue development and repair.
