Uterine Lining

Meaning

The Uterine Lining, clinically known as the endometrium, is the vascular, glandular tissue that lines the interior of the uterus. This tissue is exquisitely sensitive to the cyclical fluctuations of the ovarian hormones, estrogen and progesterone, which drive its monthly proliferation and subsequent shedding or preparation for embryo implantation. The integrity and cyclical responsiveness of the uterine lining are central to female reproductive health and hormonal balance.
