Under-Recovery

Meaning

Under-Recovery is a critical physiological state characterized by an insufficient and cumulative restoration of systemic and cellular resources relative to the total metabolic, physical, and psychological demands placed upon the body. This fundamental imbalance results in a chronic deficit in energy reserves, impaired tissue repair capacity, and progressive dysregulation of the crucial neuroendocrine and immune systems. Clinically, it is recognized as a necessary precursor to conditions like overtraining syndrome, chronic burnout, and persistent, intractable hormonal imbalances.
