Context

This regulatory system operates within the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Thyroid (HPT) axis, a central endocrine component. Hypothalamus releases TRH, stimulating anterior pituitary. Pituitary then secretes TSH, targeting the thyroid. This communication precisely modulates thyroid hormone production, impacting cells and organ systems.
