TSH, or Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone, is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland. Its primary function is to regulate the synthesis and release of thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), from the thyroid gland. This hormone acts as a central regulator in maintaining the body’s metabolic balance.
