TRT and Fluid Retention

Meaning

Testosterone Replacement Therapy, or TRT, involves administering exogenous testosterone to individuals with clinically low levels of the hormone. Fluid retention, also known as edema, describes the accumulation of excess fluid within the body’s tissues, often manifesting as swelling. When these two concepts are linked, it refers to the common physiological response of increased water and sodium retention observed in some individuals undergoing testosterone administration.
