TRIIM Trial

Meaning

The Thymus Regeneration, Immunorestoration, and Insulin Mitigation (TRIIM) Trial was a small, proof-of-concept clinical study that investigated a combination of growth hormone, DHEA, and metformin to reverse aspects of biological aging in a cohort of older men. The primary outcome measured was the epigenetic clock, a molecular marker of biological age based on DNA methylation patterns. The trial’s findings suggested that this multi-drug regimen could potentially reverse epigenetic age, generating significant interest in the field of longevity and regenerative medicine.
