Transduceosome

Meaning

The Transduceosome is a conceptual or theoretical functional unit describing a dynamic, highly organized multi-protein complex localized at the cell membrane or within the cytoplasm that serves as the primary machinery for converting an external signal into a rapid intracellular biochemical response. In endocrinology, this complex is central to non-genomic hormonal signaling, enabling immediate cellular responses to steroid and peptide hormones that bypass the slower, traditional nuclear receptor pathways. It acts as a specialized hub for signal integration and amplification.
