Training Capacity

Meaning

Training Capacity refers to the physiological ceiling dictating an individual’s ability to successfully incorporate structured physical stress (training load) without inducing systemic overreaching or injury, which is strongly influenced by the recovery state and hormonal milieu. High capacity implies efficient adaptation where anabolic processes outpace catabolic ones following repeated stimuli. It quantifies the body’s current ability to benefit from exertion.
