TRAb

Meaning

Thyrotropin Receptor Antibodies, or TRAb, are autoantibodies that specifically target the thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor located on the surface of thyroid follicular cells. These antibodies contribute to the development of autoimmune thyroid disorders by either stimulating, blocking, or neutralizing the receptor’s normal physiological function. Their presence serves as a key diagnostic marker in certain conditions affecting thyroid health.
