Tissue Resilience

Meaning

Tissue resilience is the intrinsic capacity of a biological tissue—such as skin, muscle, or bone—to resist deformation, absorb energy from stress, and rapidly return to its original structure and function after a physical or biochemical challenge. This quality is a critical determinant of health span, influencing the body’s ability to recover from injury, withstand daily wear and tear, and maintain youthful integrity. It is heavily influenced by the hormonal environment and extracellular matrix quality.
