Tissue Hypothyroidism

Meaning

Tissue Hypothyroidism is a clinical condition where circulating thyroid hormone levels, particularly T4 and T3, may appear within the normal reference range on standard blood tests, yet the target tissues and cells exhibit reduced sensitivity or impaired utilization of the hormone. This discrepancy leads to classic symptoms of low thyroid function at the cellular level, even without overt systemic failure. It is often a result of chronic cellular stress.
