Thyroid Signal Integrity

Meaning

Thyroid Signal Integrity describes the uncompromised quality and effectiveness of the entire communication pathway of thyroid hormones, from the hypothalamic release of thyrotropin-releasing hormone or TRH to the cellular binding of triiodothyronine or T3 at the nuclear receptor level. High integrity ensures that the metabolic and energetic instructions carried by the thyroid hormones are accurately received and executed by target cells throughout the body. Clinically, compromised integrity, even with seemingly normal hormone levels, can lead to subtle but pervasive symptoms of low energy and metabolic sluggishness.
