Thyroid Panel

Meaning

A Thyroid Panel is a standardized set of blood tests utilized in clinical practice to comprehensively assess the function of the thyroid gland and the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. The panel typically includes measurements of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Free Thyroxine (Free T4), and Free Triiodothyronine (Free T3), and often includes thyroid antibodies. This panel provides the essential data required to accurately diagnose and monitor conditions such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and autoimmune thyroiditis.
