Thyroid Hormone Calibration

Meaning

The process of establishing and maintaining optimal circulating levels of thyroid hormones, primarily T4 and T3, ensuring sufficient availability of the active T3 form at the cellular level for metabolic rate regulation. Calibration extends beyond simple serum testing to include assessment of T3 receptor function and the efficiency of peripheral deiodinase enzymes. This sets the fundamental metabolic tempo of the organism.
