Theta Brain Waves

Meaning

A specific pattern of brain electrical activity oscillating in the frequency range of approximately 4 to 8 Hertz, typically observed during states of deep relaxation, meditation, light sleep, and while engaging in internal focus or creative visualization. These waves are associated with memory retrieval, spatial navigation, and the transition between wakefulness and sleep. Optimizing the generation of theta waves is a goal in neurofeedback training to enhance cognitive processing and emotional regulation.
