Therapeutic Failure

Meaning

Therapeutic failure is a clear clinical determination that a prescribed treatment regimen, despite being administered as intended by the patient, has failed to achieve the predetermined, measurable clinical endpoints or desired physiological restoration. In the context of hormonal health, this means the patient’s symptoms of deficiency or imbalance have not adequately resolved, or the intended biochemical markers have not moved into the target therapeutic range. Identifying therapeutic failure prompts a comprehensive re-evaluation of the initial diagnosis, patient adherence, and the chosen treatment strategy.
