The TRAVERSE Trial

Meaning

The TRAVERSE Trial, an acronym for “Testosterone Replacement Therapy for Assessment of Long-term Vascular Events and Safety,” was a large-scale, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial. It investigated the cardiovascular safety of testosterone replacement therapy in middle-aged and older men diagnosed with hypogonadism and established cardiovascular disease or a high risk for such events. This study aimed to provide definitive evidence regarding the long-term cardiovascular implications of testosterone treatment in this specific patient population.
