Testosterone Withdrawal

Meaning

Testosterone Withdrawal refers to the constellation of physical and psychological symptoms that can manifest following the abrupt cessation of exogenous testosterone therapy or after pharmacological suppression of endogenous testosterone production. This clinical syndrome is characterized by symptoms such as fatigue, mood disturbances, decreased libido, and a transient period of hypogonadism until the native hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis recovers. Careful clinical management is necessary to mitigate the severity and duration of this transition phase.
