Testosterone Replacement Titration

Meaning

The systematic, iterative process of finely adjusting the dosage and frequency of an administered testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) regimen to achieve the patient’s individualized clinical and biochemical endpoints. Titration is a dynamic process that requires correlating symptom relief and physical changes with serial laboratory measurements of total and free testosterone, estrogen, and hematocrit. The goal is to find the lowest effective dose for optimal balance.
