Testosterone Cycling Protocol

Meaning

A Testosterone Cycling Protocol is a clinically managed, intermittent regimen for the administration of exogenous testosterone or testosterone-supportive compounds, alternating periods of active use with planned periods of cessation or reduction. The primary goal of cycling is to prevent or mitigate the long-term desensitization of androgen receptors and to allow for the periodic restoration of the body’s endogenous testosterone production axis. This strategic pulsing aims to maximize the long-term efficacy of the hormone therapy while minimizing the risk of chronic suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. This approach is distinct from continuous replacement therapy.
