Testicular Stimulation

Meaning

Testicular stimulation is a therapeutic strategy employed in male hormonal health, primarily for men with secondary hypogonadism, that aims to encourage the testes to resume or increase their endogenous production of testosterone and sperm. This is typically achieved by administering agents that mimic the pituitary hormones Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), such as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) or Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs). The clinical goal is to restore physiological testosterone levels while preserving fertility, contrasting with traditional testosterone replacement therapy which suppresses native testicular function.
