Testicular Signaling

Meaning

The complex communication network that governs the function of the testes, involving both the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and local paracrine and autocrine factors within the testicular tissue. This signaling regulates the dual functions of the testes: steroidogenesis, the production of testosterone, and spermatogenesis, the production of sperm. The integrity of this communication is vital for male reproductive and endocrine health.
