Testicular Dysgenesis Syndrome

Meaning

Testicular Dysgenesis Syndrome (TDS) represents a collection of male reproductive disorders arising from developmental disruptions of the testes during fetal life. This clinical entity encompasses a spectrum of conditions, including cryptorchidism, hypospadias, impaired spermatogenesis leading to reduced fertility, and an elevated risk of testicular germ cell cancer. It is understood as a continuum of abnormalities rather than a singular defect.
