Testicular Atrophy

Meaning

Testicular atrophy refers to the clinical condition characterized by a measurable decrease in the size and volume of one or both testicles from their normal adult dimensions. This reduction in testicular mass often correlates with a diminished capacity for spermatogenesis, the production of sperm, and steroidogenesis, the synthesis of androgens, primarily testosterone, by the Leydig cells.
