Telomere Stability

Meaning

Telomere Stability refers to the maintenance of the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes, reflecting the integrity of the cellular aging process and overall genomic health, which is intrinsically linked to endocrine status. Chronically elevated cortisol or persistent inflammation, often associated with endocrine dysregulation, accelerates telomere attrition, thus impacting cellular replicative capacity. Maintaining stability is a biomarker for biological age versus chronological age.
