T3 T4 Balance

Meaning

T3 T4 Balance refers to the critical optimal ratio and absolute concentration of the two primary thyroid hormones, the prohormone thyroxine (T4) and the biologically active triiodothyronine (T3), necessary for peak cellular metabolism. Maintaining this precise equilibrium is essential because T4 must be efficiently converted into T3 to exert its full physiological effect across virtually every organ system. An imbalance, even with normal T4 levels, can lead to widespread metabolic slowdown, fatigue, and energy dysfunction.
