T-Cell Dependent Pathway

Meaning

The T-Cell Dependent Pathway describes the adaptive immune response mechanism where B lymphocytes require direct interaction with activated T helper cells to become fully activated and produce high-affinity antibodies. While fundamentally an immunological term, in the hormonal health context, this pathway is modulated by endocrine factors, as hormones like cortisol and sex steroids significantly influence T-cell function and B-cell antibody production. Chronic stress, mediated by cortisol, can suppress this pathway, impairing immune resilience, while optimal hormone balance is necessary to support robust immune surveillance and inflammatory regulation.
