Systemic Signal Attenuation

Meaning

Systemic Signal Attenuation is the clinical process of deliberately reducing the intensity and duration of excessive or non-productive signaling cascades throughout the body, such as chronic, low-grade inflammation or sympathetic nervous system over-activation. Attenuation is a necessary therapeutic goal when persistent, dysregulated signaling threatens homeostatic balance and drives the body toward allostatic overload and disease. Effective attenuation protects hormone receptor sensitivity and prevents cellular exhaustion.
