Systemic Receptivity

Meaning

Systemic receptivity refers to the collective capacity of an organism’s cells, tissues, and organs to respond appropriately and effectively to endogenous or exogenous biochemical signals, particularly hormones, neurotransmitters, and other regulatory molecules, thereby facilitating physiological adaptation and maintaining homeostasis. This responsiveness involves the presence and proper functioning of specific receptors, signal transduction pathways, and downstream cellular machinery necessary for a biological effect to occur. It represents the body’s readiness to perceive and act upon crucial internal communications.
