Systemic Inflammation Levels

Meaning

Systemic inflammation levels quantify the concentration of circulating pro-inflammatory biomarkers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukins, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), that reflect a low-grade, chronic inflammatory state affecting the entire organism. This state, often termed “inflammaging,” is distinct from acute immune responses and is a key driver of age-related pathology, including cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, and neurodegeneration. Clinically, measuring these levels is essential for assessing biological age and the overall burden of chronic disease risk.
