Systemic Functional Barriers

Meaning

Physiological or biochemical impediments distributed throughout the body that restrict the optimal function of endocrine and metabolic systems, often contributing to chronic dysfunction. These barriers can include gut dysbiosis affecting nutrient absorption, hepatic congestion impairing hormone clearance, or chronic inflammation causing receptor resistance. Identifying and mitigating these barriers is a prerequisite for successful hormonal and metabolic therapy.
