Systemic Elasticity

Meaning

Systemic Elasticity is the measure of an organism’s intrinsic capacity to rapidly and effectively return to a state of homeostatic equilibrium following exposure to a physical, psychological, or metabolic stressor. High elasticity is a hallmark of youthful resilience and robust healthspan, reflecting the efficient adaptability of the endocrine, nervous, and immune systems. Loss of this elasticity is a defining feature of biological aging.
