Systemic Dysregulation

Meaning

A state of pathological imbalance where the complex, interconnected regulatory networks of the body, including the endocrine, immune, and nervous systems, are operating outside their optimal homeostatic range. Dysregulation is often the result of chronic allostatic load, leading to inappropriate or inadequate physiological responses to internal and external stimuli. Clinically, this manifests as chronic inflammation, persistent HPA axis dysfunction, and metabolic syndrome. Correcting systemic dysregulation is the primary goal of functional medicine and precision health protocols.
