Systemic Circulation

Meaning

Systemic Circulation describes the portion of the circulatory system responsible for carrying oxygenated blood from the left ventricle of the heart to the body’s tissues and returning deoxygenated blood via the vena cava to the right atrium. This circuit is the primary conduit for distributing hormones, nutrients, and oxygen necessary for maintaining tissue-specific endocrine signaling and metabolic activity. It ensures global physiological communication.
