Systemic Allostasis Monitoring

Meaning

Systemic allostasis monitoring is the comprehensive, longitudinal assessment of multiple biological parameters to track the body’s cumulative physiological cost of chronic adaptation to stress. Allostasis refers to the process of achieving stability through change, and monitoring tracks the allostatic load, which is the wear and tear on the body. This approach moves beyond single-point diagnostics to evaluate the dynamic interplay of neuroendocrine, immune, and cardiovascular systems. The clinical goal is to identify early signs of system failure and prevent the transition from adaptive allostasis to pathological allostatic overload.
