System Stability Threshold

Meaning

The critical point of tolerance beyond which a physiological system, such as the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis or the metabolic network, can no longer maintain homeostatic balance in the face of persistent internal or external stress. Exceeding this threshold leads to a non-linear, often rapid, shift into a state of chronic dysregulation or clinical pathology. Maintaining health involves operating well within this stability margin.
