Symptom Proxy Data Management

Meaning

Symptom Proxy Data Management is the systematic process of collecting, analyzing, and securely storing non-traditional, objective data streams—often derived from wearable devices or environmental sensors—that serve as measurable surrogates, or “proxies,” for subjective patient symptoms. For example, heart rate variability (HRV) or sleep efficiency can act as proxies for perceived stress or fatigue, which are common symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Effective management of this data allows for the quantification of subjective wellness states and supports data-driven clinical decision-making.
