SWS Deep Sleep

Meaning

SWS Deep Sleep, or Slow-Wave Sleep, is the non-REM sleep stage characterized by high-amplitude, low-frequency delta brain waves, representing the most restorative phase of the sleep cycle. This stage is physiologically crucial for cerebral waste clearance, memory consolidation, and, most importantly in endocrinology, the majority of Growth Hormone (GH) pulsatile release. Clinically, the quantity and quality of SWS are direct biomarkers for neuro-endocrine health and recovery capacity. Insufficient SWS compromises tissue repair and metabolic regulation, undermining overall vitality.
