Sustained Attention Metrics

Meaning

Quantitative measurements used to assess the ability to maintain a consistent focus on a specific, often monotonous, task over an extended duration, reflecting the stability of underlying cortical resources. These metrics are sensitive indicators of neuroendocrine fatigue, particularly concerning sustained catecholamine function and glucose supply to the frontal lobes. Poor performance often correlates with compromised HPA axis regulation or suboptimal energy throughput. We define the limits of unwavering mental concentration.
