Supraphysiological Thresholds

Meaning

Supraphysiological thresholds refer to the concentration levels of an endogenous substance, such as a hormone or growth factor, that significantly exceed the upper limits of the typical range observed in a healthy, non-intervened human population. While sometimes employed therapeutically for specific clinical outcomes, maintaining concentrations above these thresholds can significantly increase the risk of adverse health events and systemic disruption. The clinical goal in hormonal wellness is generally to restore levels to an optimal physiological range, not to push beyond these established biological limits.
