Supraphysiological GH

Meaning

Supraphysiological Growth Hormone (GH) refers to the presence of circulating growth hormone levels that significantly exceed the physiological range typically produced by the pituitary gland under normal homeostatic conditions. These elevated concentrations can arise from exogenous administration, such as in therapeutic or non-therapeutic contexts, or from endogenous overproduction due to pathological states like pituitary adenomas.
